The purpose of the Compliance Engineer is to develop and maintain Rheem’s proprietary HVAC modeling software that is used for new product and technology development.
This position supports our Air Division based in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Accurately acquire and interpret test data and results and make any computations required to complete test data within the scope of the requirements of the applicable test standard.
Collaboration with engineering and research teams with the development of engineering tool such as heat transfer simulation programs used for HVAC design and regulatory rating metrics
Collaborate with cross functional teams and internal customers to gather requirements and provide updates/reports for assigned projects
Develop project plans using formal Gantt charts, track/maintain project schedules to ensure on time completions
Acquire in-depth knowledge of Rheem’s and competitive products, and keep abreast of industry activities and product and technology trends
Must be hands on and have experience working in a laboratory environment
Effectively meet the needs of internal and external customers
Help design engineers and product managers understand applicable domestic and international safety and regulatory standards related to their products
WHAT YOU NEED:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering
1 to 5 years of experience with HVAC safety and regulatory standard
Experience with working with international and domestic safety and regulatory standards (UL, IEC, DOE, SASO, etc.
Experience with air conditioning/refrigerant cycle and the software used to predict its performance
Must be hands on and have experience in working in a lab in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability in work
Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis including statistical and uncertainty analysis.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, and governmental regulations
Project management skills and knowledge required
Knowledge of programming with Visual Basic (VBA) and C# desired
