Job Posting: Voiceover Narrator
Location: Onsite at our Minneapolis office

The company: Captionmax is a full-service media accessibility company. We provide closed captioning for prerecorded media and real-time events, subtitling and localization services, audio description, and specialized scripts. Our clients range from the biggest names in media and entertainment, to large corporations, educational institutions, and government entities.
The position: We are currently looking to grow our team of in-house, part-time voiceover narrators. We are looking for a talented individual to narrate audio description scripts for network and streaming television programming and other video content. The purpose of these scripts is to make the visual content accessible to a blind or low-vision audience. This is non-union, non-agented work.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
Record voiceover narration at Captionmax headquarters in Minneapolis.
Take direction on vocal approach, tone, style, etc., from an in-house Audio Engineer, the Voiceover Supervisor, and/or other staff.
Learn about the entire process of creating audio description to understand the perspective of the end user.
Watch full program and review audio description script before each recording session to become familiar with the content.
Communicate availability with Voiceover Supervisor and manage tasks via online scheduling platform.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: A strong, expressive voice, with experience delivering voiceover narration for radio, television, or theatre a plus. Basic understanding of audio recording and mixing technology. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, and to focus, plan, and coordinate tasks in a deadline environment.
Required criteria: A strong, clear speaking voice, with experience in voiceover, acting, radio, or broadcasting. Ability to record voiceover narration quickly and efficiently at a high level of quality. Comfort with matching vocal performance and delivery to a variety of scenes and situations in different genres of programming. Must be responsive to direction and feedback and be able to modify vocal approach and tone in session. We describe a diverse array of programming and are looking for voices which reflect that diversity.
Educational requirements: Voiceover training and/or voice coaching, with a degree in theatre, performance, broadcasting, or film/television production preferred. Voice acting or narration experience a plus. Ability to speak multiple languages a plus.
