POSITION SUMMARY

White River Marine Group is looking for a Front-End Developer with strong experience to join the Creative Web Team. In this role, you will serve as the visual authority, translating UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of our applications. Our vast range of products vary from customer facing to internal tools for numerous boating, off-road and store brands including Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s, Tracker, Ranger and Nitro to name a few. The Creative Web Team is a multi-disciplinary group of designers, technical writers and front-end developers who collaborate closely together with product managers and engineers to deliver usable, great-looking products. As a Front-End Developer, you will work with UI/UX designers and Software Engineers to bridge the gap between visual designs and technical implementation. You will serve as the owner of our front-end architecture, managing our framework and making decisions that drive our company forward with new methods and technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop new user-facing features, components and applications (45%)
Iterate and build upon our design system and component library (20%)
Collaborate with Software Engineers to see projects through to production (15%)
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs (10%)
Optimize components and applications for maximum speed and scalability (10%)

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Degree Required : Bachelor’s Degree or related work experience required.

Preferred Degree : Computer Science, Web Design & Development or related

Experience : 2 – 4 years in-house, freelance/contract or agency

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
Proficient understanding of responsive front-end frameworks like Zurb Foundation or Bootstrap
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as AngularJS or ReactJS
Good understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to web applications
Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
Ability to articulate and present ideas, both to teams and clients
Ability to communicate effectively both spoken and written
Ability to think creatively innovating new web solutions for desktop, mobile and applications

PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience collaborating with software engineers to build custom applications
Experience collaborating with UI/UX designers to ensure design quality throughout
Experience working within existing style guides and brand guidelines.
Seasoned in Agile development processes.
A passion for creating products that resonate on an emotional level.
