In this fast-paced, high energy environment how do we produce high quality stage entertainment for our guests’ enjoyment? As The Production Stage Manager, you will ensure production requirements are met for all entertainment venues throughout the property. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
- Advance production requirements for all entertainment in Northern Lights Theater (NLT) & throughout the casino where entertainment is designated; including the Hotel.
- Schedule touring production for load in, sound checks, and load outs. Develop load in and load out procedures for theatre and other venues as needed.
Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training team members; scheduling and motivating team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
- Procure rental equipment per contract riders.
- Maintain inventory control for sound, light, and production equipment.
- Develop a maintenance plan for all equipment per manufacturer’s specs.
- Direct set-up of stage plots, back-line equipment, and platforms.
Coordinate merchandising and public relations functions for artist including but not limited to meet & greets between artist and Player development, distribution of artist’s guest list, coordination of merchandise sales, and coordination of fan clubs and VIP’s.
Schedule and implement in house advertising i.e. plasmas, posters, and flyers etc. for local events and schedule in house photographer for shows.
Manage rigging tasks which requires knowledge of load tolerance of wire rope, span sets, and shackles, truss, chain motors, and the structural integrity of the venue including operating and supervising lift equipment, power tools, and safety equipment.
Engineer front of house including supervise sound system engineering, which requires the ability to read as-built diagrams and to understand systems operation and installation. Interface microphones, direct boxes, Midi equipment and monitor sound system in absence of other techs.
Writes internal controls, policies, procedures and regulations, and ensures full compliance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and 6 years of progressively responsible stage and production experience are required. A Bachelor’s degree in Theater Production/Management, Entertainment or related field can take the place of 2 years of experience.
Two years of supervisory experience are preferred.
A working knowledge of electrical equipment is required.
The ability to use strong organization skills and attention to detail to accurately handle multiple job duties and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure and technical manuals.
Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and general knowledge of Microsoft Office.
The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
The ability to interact with and understand the interests of stakeholders at all levels, as well as the impact of those interests on PH&C and its goals. The ability to communicate effectively before groups of guests or team members of the organization.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, hear, stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move freely throughout the office and property for prolonged periods of time in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member is be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with assistance. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free.
