AECOM is seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer in Orange, CA to support for the construction, operation and maintenance of multiple environmental remediation systems including vapor extraction, LNAPL recovery, groundwater recovery and groundwater treatment on a major project site in Carson, CA.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with soil, groundwater and vapor sampling at multiple locations in the Los Angeles Basin. Assist geologists and engineers in the field. Serving on project team(s) under the supervision of Principal Engineer. Interact with and direct subcontractors. Perform troubleshooting of remediation systems and prepare daily paperwork describing field observations and duties. Participate in daily safety briefings. Assist in the design of remediation systems. Performing constructability reviews of designs; conducting calculation checks and peer review of deliverables; planning, preparing, and reviewing technical specifications according to the contract documents.
Successful candidate will have demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to work safely in a team environment under the direction of engineers and geologists. Candidate is required to be on-call for emergency trouble shooting (Weekday and/or weekend). Overtime work is possible on a weekly basis.
+ BS in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering with 4+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and or experience.
+ Valid California driver’s license
+ OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training Preferred.
+ OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training and Current Refresher Preferred.
+ EIT or Professional Engineer (P.E.) Preferred.
+ Mechanical Troubleshooting and Repair Skills Preferred.
+ Electrical Troubleshooting Skills Preferred.
