TECTUM, a subsidiary of AWI, is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our Manufacturing team at our facility in Newark, OH. The Process Engineer will mainly be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in applying process improvement tools such as Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, experiment design, and statistical process control. The Process Engineer will also be responsible for utilizing process improvement tools to identify and improve plant performance.
Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:
Lead process optimizations, perform root cause analysis, and drive scientific and engineering principles for our rapidly changing industrial manufacturing facility
Support plant safety initiatives by actively participating in safety audits and risk assessments
Ensure compliance of product attributes to technical specifications and requirements
Use data to analyze and investigate process difficulties to detect and analyze sources of trouble
Plan and conduct factory tests to follow through on preceding activities
Write test plans, observe test runs, direct experimental process adjustments during tests, evaluate test results, write reports, and recommend and initiate subsequent actions
Coach production operators in the use of process control techniques
Oversee initiatives related to cost reduction, quality improvement, new product development, energy utilization, and process improvement
Collaborate with production team to troubleshoot technical problems
Investigate improvement opportunities; initiate manufacturing process improvement projects
Create, refine, educate, and implement standard process adherence throughout workforce
Drive root cause resolution of customer complaints for product quality issues
Implement product quality improvements by completing root cause analysis
Cultivate product and supplier relationships to gain sustainable competitive advantage
Creating and maintaining data collection systems
Required Qualifications and Education of the Process Engineer:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
3+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications of the Process Engineer:
5+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with applying Six Sigma, DMAIC, and Lean methodologies
Customer relationship management experience, including customer visits, complaints, and claims management
Experience leading a Quality Management System
