Information Technology Services (ITS) currently has openings for IT Software Engineer III positions at our Chinden Office in Boise, Idaho. These positions will provide software development services within the ITS software development team, developing a wide range of applications in support of state agency missions.
The selected individuals must possess an in-depth knowledge of mainstream software development methods within a variety of development environments to produce quality software applications and tools. These positions will be experts in software development, deployment, and management, including the ability to create and maintain extensive software documentation and interpret user and system requirements to produce professional level software.

Example of Duties
Develops and delivers software applications from complex requirements documentation to meet agency and business needs;
Manages software deployments, upgrades and troubleshoots software applications;
Develops, produces and maintains source code, development documentation, software requirement documents and works within the software development process;
Develops software requirements;
Develops software tools and a variety of scripts to create efficiencies and automate processes;
Undertakes code reviews.
Considerable knowledge of data architecture, software architecture, common software design patterns, development and testing practices; programming languages and software development tool suites.
Experience creating, interpreting and documenting user requirements; analyzing development solutions to show costs and benefits; coding, testing and deploying production systems; establishing and defining architecture and development standards.
The ideal candidate would have the following interpersonal and management skills:
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft .Net framework/CORE and associated programming languages;
Strong knowledge and experience in software development methods and practices such as traditional SDLC methods, RAD and Agile;
Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities;
Ability to work in a non-partisan manner when working in political environments or when involved in political activities;
