Our client, located in Stockton, CA is searching for a maintenance electrician. This is a direct hire position, your first day on the job would be with the company itself.
Coordinates activities including repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
Assists Maintenance Supervisor in supervising maintenance staff as needed. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Helps develop, propose, and execute preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff. This includes reviewing production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities as needed.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards. Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Reviews job orders to determine work priorities. Schedules maintenance staff to perform repairs, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. This includes the fabrication or modifying of machines, tools, or equipment to improve existing products or manufacture new products.
Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers. Works with the Requisition Manager to order tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
Perform both preventative and as-needed maintenance for all company facilities including the design and installation of new and upgraded equipment.
Assist in the preparation of department budget and monitors expenditure of funds. Forecasts project costs and updates Maintenance Manager on project costs and status.
Confers with workers' representatives to resolve grievances.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Associate's Degree or equivalent from an accredited college, university, or technical school and three years applicable experience; or seven years applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current OSHA 30 Hour Certification (Can be discussed)
Experience with the assembly, installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical and electronic wiring and equipment. Ability to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to identify the root-cause and correct the problem.
Familiarity understanding and creating technical diagrams including mechanical and electrical schematics.
Strong analytical skills especially in relation to engineering design and problem solving. Is able to utilize this logic and propose innovative applications, processes, and products.
Familiarity with a wide range of computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, project management, and engineering design.
Project Management and Leadership skills including managing projects, people, and resources. Can plan, present, execute, and track project and personnel progress. Is comfortable delegating when appropriate. Must track and control project costs and budgets.
Strong and effective communication skills including the following areas: oral, written, group presentations, and employee reviews. Must be able to communicate and train any number of persons concerning technical processes and applications.
High ethical standards, dependability, strategic thinking and high initiative guide all work with a focus on safety, security, and quality in all tasks.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to be able to clearly issue and receive direction relating to ongoing projects. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk for moderate lengths of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
