CAD/Trimble Operator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

CAD

  • Produce coordinated shop drawings for fabrication and field installation
  • Create detailed piping / plumbing / sheet metal coordination drawings with other trades that comply with the local codes
  • Find efficiencies in the systems distribution to minimize cost and assure profitability
  • Identify conflicts with the architectural, structural and other MEP trades and present well thought out and cost-effective solutions
  • Review construction documents, product literature, specifications and cut sheets
  • Effectively communicate with project managers, project engineers and other team members during the construction process
  • Layout hanger points for Trimble RTS
  • Produce spool drawings that are clearly labeled and accurately dimensioned for pre-fabrication
  • Participate in coordination and project related meetings
  • Provide project managers or project leads weekly updates to keep aligned with project schedule
  • Create as-built point files at conclusion of projects

Trimble Operator

  • Be on the job and ready to work at the designated project start time
  • Ensure Trimble RTS and accessories for layout stay maintained and in working order
  • Prepare files for the Trimble RTS for layout
  • Meet with project team onsite to evaluate conditions of control points and anything else needed to perform layout
  • Collaborate with BIM/VDC Teams to ensure files are accurate for layout
  • Liaison between BIM/VDC team and project team as it relates to as-builts or existing conditions
  • Update point files with all field conditions or changes
  • Provide efficient and accurate layout to the field utilizing Trimble RTS

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Certification or 2-year degree in a directly related area such as drafting or Engineering
  • At least 4 years of experience as part of a team providing BIM / VDC phase services
  • Knowledge of mechanical/plumbing trades, shop drawings, common field problems and how to resolve them
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Trimble Field Link
  • Proficient Knowledge of CAD/BIM/VDC software and processes
  • Knowledge of electronic document exchange and repository processes.
  • Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications
  • General knowledge of piping & ducted systems

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in various outdoor climates
  • Able to read small print and see details at close range
  • Tolerance for occasional loud and/or shrill noises

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $37,000.00 to $49,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • AutoCAD: 4 years (Preferred)

Education:

  • Associate (Preferred)
