Provide automation and process control technical services to businesses in support of top line growth, asset effectiveness improvement programs and capital projects. Apply engineering principles and knowledge to support the development, implementation, commissioning and validation of the successful operation of applications and solutions. Work on project teams and with full service design contractors to realize the objectives of technical programs and projects involving automation and process control technology.
Successful candidate will be responsible for (1) identifying new process control improvement opportunities at various manufacturing sites (2) conducting the necessary analysis (or design) to troubleshoot existing (or develop new) automation and process control applications (3) implementing and commissioning these applications. The special focus in process safety will also require that the candidate (4) aid evaluation and design of process safety interlocks and alarms and (5) commissioning of those interlocks.
Minimum Skills Required:
BS in ChE with 5 to 10 years minimum of experience (or equivalent) in a chemical manufacturing environment. (1) Demonstrated knowledge of Chemical Engineering principles behind the automation & optimization of process operations in the chemical industries (2) Knowledge of process safety standards (3) D emonstrated knowledge of fundamental/advanced control strategies. (4) Basic understanding of the international batch standard S88 (5) Skills in programming or configuration of DCS or PLC systems (6) Working knowledge in evaluation and design of process safety interlocks and alarms, including PFD calculations (7) Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements for safety interlock testing.
Candidate is expected to have (1) Demonstrated communication skills with ability to develop and articulate the merit of proposals for technical improvement programs in a consulting organization (2) Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with plant personnel (Mechanics, Engineers, Management) at all levels (3)
Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision (4) Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be creative and innovative (5) Ability to work well with large teams either as a contributor or as a team leader (6) Ability to learn quickly and willing to expand his/her knowledge and develop skills in related fields of the competency (7) Ability to set priorities/organize work.
