Eduworks, an innovative software R&D firm specializing in applying cutting edge technologies to education, training, simulation and human capital management for Government and commercial clients, is seeking a full-time project manager. As a project manager, you will work collaboratively with researchers, designers, product specialists, and engineers and play a critical role in coordinating the efforts of diverse teams in a constantly evolving research and product development environment. Our success depends on the intelligent and strategic application of resources to solve cutting edge problems, and we often have to pivot quickly in response to new challenges and research findings. You will deploy a structured toolkit to administer and coordinate a portfolio of inter-related contracts, being implemented by a geographically distributed, interdisciplinary team. You will also work with other Project Managers as part of a larger team to leverage synergies across Eduworks’ larger portfolio of research grants and commercial products.
You are a proactive planner, who is comfortable in a constantly evolving environment. Your motto might be “Have a plan, and be prepared to change it!” You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and feel comfortable deploying them in interactions with a wide range of internal and external collaborators and clients. You have solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and self management, and can communicate effectively to maintain team focus on strategic outcomes, deploying informal authority to drive productive collaboration.
Eduworks is an ideal environment to apply your previous experience with informal leadership and administration in any context. Specific experience or knowledge of our main product areas and technology is less important than the ability to learn independently, desire to learn new skills rapidly, and the tenacity to persist through tough challenges. We value professional and community-based experience in planning and organizing, an interest in learning, and a drive to contribute to team performance and business growth.
You may work from our Corvallis, OR office, or remotely from anywhere in the US.
B.S., B.A., or similar academic degree in any discipline
At least one year of prior management and leadership experience in a voluntary or professional setting
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Desire for intellectual and professional collaboration, valuing multiple inputs, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively articulate and document work in a technical domain
Demonstrated ability to work and acquire new skills independently, and to rapidly acquire knowledge in new application domains
Prior experience with grants or contracts administration
Prior experience with project management tools (G Suite, Jira, Excel)
Prior experience with budgeting and financial management of projects
Prior experience working on technical or software products
Prior experience working in the Education, Training, and Simulation sectors
