This position completes storm and surface water utility projects, stormwater fee impervious surface billing calculations, and assists with NPDES permit compliance in accordance with state and federal regulations. Duties include, project management; developing and maintaining scope, schedule and budget; anticipating issues and challenges; engaging diverse interests, including historically underrepresented communities; reporting to state and federal agencies; seeking and obtaining grant funding; obtaining council approval when necessary; and full contract management.
The Surface Water Team is comprised of one engineer, three program coordinators, two inspectors, and an intern all supervised and managed by the Supervising Surface Water Engineer. Our team manages several aspects of the surface water utility including state and federal permit compliance. Surface Water Engineer

During the COVID-19 emergency some employees are telecommuting 4-5 days per week until further notice. The successful candidate will be provided with tools necessary to be able to temporarily work from home. It is expected that while in training this individual will need to be at our City Hall location with other staff periodically. The City has adopted a COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan that requires employee self-screening, masks, social distancing, and certain sanitation procedures, that all employees are required to follow while in a City office building or work location. After COVID-19 it is expected that PW staff will return to work at City Hall.
