The Physical Sciences & Systems group in Newport, RI is seeking a summer research intern to assist in the investigation and development of new capabilities. Tasks may include developing or extending existing signal processing algorithms; collecting and analyzing field test data; and researching and implementing collaborative autonomy algorithms.
The candidate should be a rising junior or senior student in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, applied mathematics, physics or similar relevant field. The candidate should have a wiliness to collaborate and develop new capabilities. Candidates must be creative, entrepreneurial, and highly motivated researchers who hit the ground running, can interact with customers, and have a willingness to write research proposals for government funding.
What will you need?
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or other related engineering fields.
Additional Skills that would be AWESOME
- Experience with software development (MATLAB, C/C++, or Python) and expertise with underwater acoustics, data visualization, EO/IR imaging, or control theory for physical systems is strongly preferred.
