This position is responsible to improve manufacturing equipment and processes for effective and efficient production while ensuring that safety, quality, productivity, growth, and cost goals can be achieved on a daily basis.
Develop safe procedures and lock out/tag out instructions for new and existing equipment and processes
Develop and implement objectives and plans for manufacturing’s technical needs on an ongoing basis. Identify resource needs and recommend and implement policies and procedures as needed.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports to improve processes or equipment
Collaborate with associates and leadership to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
Investigate equipment failures and performance issues to diagnose faulty operation and to make recommendations to maintenance for resolution.
Estimate costs, obtain quotes, and present recommendations for construction equipment and construction projects. Prepare related project documents, including RFQ (requests for quotes), quote comparisons, PRA (purchase request authorization), purchase contracts, Gantt charts, and others as required.
Prioritize project requests with manufacturing leadership and other internal customers. Coordinate execution of projects with Maintenance and Production teams.
Write standard work for processes and set target production rates
Apply lean and continuous improvement management principles throughout the department’s daily activities
Flexible work schedule to include coordination of 24-hour on-call service to manufacturing maintenance and off-shift problem resolutions
Establish and maintain a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity, and teamwork

Knowledge and Experience:
2-5 years of manufacturing experience
Enhanced knowledge of MS Office Applications.
Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written with English proficiency.
Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, coaching, diplomacy and conflict resolution.
Working knowledge of all applicable OSHA standards including lockout/tag out, confined spaces, blood borne pathogens, machine guarding, hazardous communications, personal protective equipment, etc.
Working knowledge of PLC programming, packaging equipment, plastics, metals and/or chemical processing preferred.
Familiarity with and prior utilization of continuous improvement manufacturing concepts to include Lean/Six Sigma methodology.
Experience in preparing project scope assessments, capital plan authorization, vendor assessments/selection, etc.
Experience with 2D drafting software (example: AutoCAD) or 3D software (example: Solidworks)
Education and Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science discipline required
