Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team! This position will support government programs by assisting in the design and development of diagnostic hardware, test adapters and test cables for use in testing complex components of military weapon systems.
What will you be doing?
This position will report to the Combat Capabilities Development Command – Armaments Center (CCDC-AC) Automated Test Systems Division (ATSD). Duties include:
Assist senior hardware design engineers in the development of test hardware, test adapters and test cables.
Develop mechanical and electrical drawings, parts lists, wiring diagrams and assembly diagrams
Part selection and vendor interface
Participation in Integrated Product Team meetings.
What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?
This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in design and 3D Modeling of machined and sheet metal parts, wiring harnesses and complex assemblies
Experience in AutoCAD or PTC Creo software
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs
Experience with drafting standards and procedures such as ASME Y14.100, ASME Y14.5 and Geometric Tolerancing
Ability to conduct tolerance studies and related fit checks
Good oral and written communication, interpersonal and relationship skills
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance
