Summary

The Electrical Engineering – Wire Harness position works with the engineering team to provide cable design recommendations. Designing, programing, modifying, and verifying BOM’s for electrical system components make up the primary role of this individual. They will also work with the team to provide support in the areas of hardware estimation, engineering, troubleshooting, and customer support.

GEN3 currently supports the development and production of robotic vehicle platforms, accelerating the development process by overcoming all lead times and engineering obstacles. We rapidly get product to market and into full rate production. GEN3 is part of a larger portfolio of businesses with a strong support network and proven track record of success in several markets.

Key areas of responsibility will include:
Participate in electrical design reviews for new military programs from start to finish
Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, and motor controls
Prepare technical drawings, BOMs, specifications of electrical systems which conform to IPC Class II and Class III / AMS standards and customer requirements
Problem solves major issues with mainly with cable harnesses and preferred general CCA and testing abilities.
Management of assigned projects and duties
Performs other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Proficient with MS Office, and some knowledge of PLC and HMI software preferred
Preferred experience in cable assembly design software, including: Capital Mentor and Zuken
Fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design
Overall understanding of electrical design, BOM’s, AutoCAD, etc.
Project engineering and fundamental knowledge of an electrical system
Ability to exercise critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to carry out job responsibilities while fully embracing the Simplified Investments Core Values

Position Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Cloud based ERP experience preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment: Generally conservative noise level – occasional stressful activities and associated noise

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit or crouch for extended periods of time and regularly required to walk. Employee regularly uses hands and fingers to touch, feel, handle. Employee regularly stoops, kneels, bend at the waist, and reaches in addition to sitting and standing for long periods of time while looking at a computer screen. Employee is frequently required to speak and hear. Employee is sometimes required move light equipment.
