The Quality Engineer will be responsible for inspection of cut, formed, weld fabricated, machined or assemblies for adherence to engineering drawings / specifications.
Interpretation and understanding of CAD models and shop drawings to determine if a part is made to print. Examples are:
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols
Print legend and notation
The ability to use measuring instruments to verify whether a product conforms to shop drawings. Must be able to distinguish color in this position and the ability to read small print and distinguish specific details. Reading skills to understand instructions, plans, or purchase orders. Effective communication skills enabling verbal and written communication using active listening and learning. Requirements include but are not limited to:
Development of PFMEA and Control Plan documentation
Understand workflow of product through manufacturing processes to promote safe working conditions.
Developing and implementing quality standards.
Monitoring, analyzing and reporting quality performance matrix.
Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
Perform statistical testing to prove a process or design.
Help in designing in-process fixturing / gages for manufacturing purposes.
Investigate and troubleshoot product or process issues.
Develop and Implement corrective actions to improve product or process issues with supporting team members.
Ability to assign direction to Quality personnel when applicable.
High school diploma (or GED). A bachelors degree in Engineering, science, or logistics. Prior manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years on the job training (preferred). Prior experience in metal fabrication a plus or welding/layout experience (preferred). Basic blueprint reading skills and welding symbols. The ability to use basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have ability to use appropriate tools related to the task.
