POSITION TITLE: Engineer, Process-Packaging Specialist
REPORTING TO: Manager, Production
LOCATION: St. Albans, VT

This position provides process engineering design, implementation/commissioning services and maintenance support of manufacturing processes and equipment.

- Ability to adhere to GMPs and all other food safety requirements
- Working closely with other specialists, including: personnel responsible for the quality control of raw materials, intermediates and finished products; engineers responsible for plant maintenance; commercial colleagues on product specifications and production schedules; and the operating crew;
- Making observations and taking measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from the other technical and operating staff involved;
- Preparing reports, flow diagrams and charts;
- Monitoring and improving the efficiency, output and safety of a plant;
- Reviewing existing data to see if more research and information need to be collated, and assessing the adequacy of the existing processes and equipment;
- Designing, installing and commissioning new production units, monitoring development (i.e., modifications and upgrades) and troubleshooting existing processes;
- Applying the principles of mass, momentum and heat transfer to process and equipment design;
- Using computer modelling and simulations to design and evaluate processes and operating systems for the manufacture of products;
- Ensuring the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs;
- Ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations;
- Liaising with other process engineers, perhaps working on associated plants;
- Managing the cost and time constraints of projects.

About you:
- BS Engineering degree, required
- Five (5) years of experience on the field in similar functions/position
- Project management approach
- Microsoft Office software and Windows Operating System experience
- Self-motivated
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Attention to details
- Communication skills - team player

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00 per year
