POSITION TITLE: Engineer, Process-Packaging Specialist

REPORTING TO: Manager, Production

LOCATION: St. Albans, VT

This position provides process engineering design, implementation/commissioning services and maintenance support of manufacturing processes and equipment.

  • Ability to adhere to GMPs and all other food safety requirements
  • Working closely with other specialists, including: personnel responsible for the quality control of raw materials, intermediates and finished products; engineers responsible for plant maintenance; commercial colleagues on product specifications and production schedules; and the operating crew;
  • Making observations and taking measurements directly, as well as collecting and interpreting data from the other technical and operating staff involved;
  • Preparing reports, flow diagrams and charts;
  • Monitoring and improving the efficiency, output and safety of a plant;
  • Reviewing existing data to see if more research and information need to be collated, and assessing the adequacy of the existing processes and equipment;
  • Designing, installing and commissioning new production units, monitoring development (i.e., modifications and upgrades) and troubleshooting existing processes;
  • Applying the principles of mass, momentum and heat transfer to process and equipment design;
  • Using computer modelling and simulations to design and evaluate processes and operating systems for the manufacture of products;
  • Ensuring the process works at the optimum level, to the right rate and quality of output, in order to meet supply needs;
  • Ensuring that all aspects of an operation or process meet specified regulations;
  • Liaising with other process engineers, perhaps working on associated plants;
  • Managing the cost and time constraints of projects.
  • Ability to adhere to GMPs and all other food safety requirements

About you:

  • BS Engineering degree, required
  • Five (5) years of experience on the field in similar functions/position
  • Project management approach
  • Microsoft Office software and Windows Operating System experience
  • Self-motivated
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Attention to details
  • Communication skills - team player

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00 per year
