Seagate's Cloud Systems is working on a new storage software platform designed for cloud object storage and focused on scalability, extensibility and reuse. About the Role:
You’re early in your career and will work with the internal Seagate team to develop a resilient, high performing storage platform.

You’ll work closely with the senior engineering and architecture leads to learn about storage system’s capabilities and help generate the right ideas that would allow us to better our solution.

You’ll set up the lab equipment such as network switches, storage systems, servers, etc.

You’ll work on provisioning the hardware setups as per the Cloud Storage product architecture.

You’ll assist on investigations related to Cloud Storage integration with Storage Systems

About you:
Strong analytical skills

Understanding of PXE/TFTP/D

General networking knowledge and being familiar with basic linux networking tools (ip, route, iptables etc)

Understanding of Linux packaging process and systems (deb/rpm or others, rpm is preferable)

Familiarity with at least one configuration management system (puppet, salt, ansible, chef etc) is highly desired

Familiarity of industry software development processes and practices

Knowledge of software development life-cycle

Your experience includes

Solid skills and knowledge with Data Structures

Experience with shell scripting

Good python programming skills

Knowledge of Linux architecture and boot process specifically

General networking knowledge and being familiar with basic linux networking tools (ip, route, iptables etc)

You might also have:
Basic understanding of a Cloud Storage function in general ( AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, etc) .

Scripting preferably with sh/bash

Some field experience through advanced academic projects and/or industry internships

Familiarity with redhat kickstart unattended provisioning (preferred) or debian preseed

Familiarity with virtualization solutions (e.g. Virtual Box, KVM, VMware)

Travel : 0 - 5%
