We are a growing Forensic Architecture company that assists attorneys and insurance companies with the resolution of their construction litigation claims. We have an immediate opportunity for an Architect or Engineer in our Chester, NJ office. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with at least 5 years of experience in construction inspection and/or building code background.
Responsibilities will include:
Conducting and documenting residential and commercial forensic investigations to analyze and determine the cause, origin, and extent of structural failures, water infiltration, roof damage, construction defects and building system failures for insurance companies, attorneys, private homeowners, property owners and condominium associations.
NJ State Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or NJ State Registered Architect (RA) with a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
Strong command of fundamental building envelope principals including the role of water resistant barriers and proper window, door, roof and wall flashing.
Working knowledge of building codes and ability to conduct independent research of codes, standards and other technical references.
Local travel and inspection of homes, roofs and crawlspaces. Ability to work in adverse field conditions.
Tech savvy with knowledge of a wide range of computer applications including Microsoft Office.
Hands on construction experience.
Excellent report writing, communication and organizational skills.
Familiarity with CAD.
