The Department of Facilities Administration at TheUniversity of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an immediate need for two Biomedical Engineers I. "The Biomedical Engineer I" will work with an experienced BMET, utilizing standard and specialized electronic test equipment and tools to perform calibration, maintenance, and repairs of medical equipment. Repairs, tests, and calibrates medical equipment according to OEM recommendations. Performs departmental audits/rounds. Assists in ordering replacement parts and supplies necessary for the servicing of medical equipment. Prioritizes work load effectively and complete all work assignments in a timely manner. Maintains accurate documentation as required by current policies and procedures. Required to support multiple hospitals and facilities as assigned. Must have effective communication skills, both oral and written. Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: (KSA)Ability to use an equipment management program that meets current CMS, TJC, AHCA, and other AHJ requirements.Knowledge of electrical safety theory, and be able to perform electrical safety testing on medical equipment.Ability to manage a recall and safety alert program for medical devices including medical device hazard investigations to assure compliance with patient safety goals, SMDA, and TJC requirements.
