The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is seeking an individual for the position of Senior Information Analyst. APCO International’s Headquarters and the position are located in Daytona Beach, Florida.
This is a fast paced, project based, key technical position in a department of three. The purpose of this position is to provide analysis, strategy, and documentation for the design and testing of information system development; ensure that correct business functionality, requirements, and quality assurance standards are adopted within the computer applications selected or built; write technical specifications as needed; and assist in efforts to ensure the longevity of organizational products and systems.
The ideal candidate will serve as the primary contact for APCO’s Association Management Solution (AMS), Community Brand’s netFORUM. Responsibilities include programming in a SQL environment, SSRS report writing, implementing software upgrades or developing new programs. The incumbent will be an internal change agent, lead internal projects and should be fluent in and follow project management best practices. This is a non-supervisory role.
The ideal candidate will report directly to the Director of Knowledge Management and will work with autonomy to:
Develop simple and complex SQL queries and support ad hoc requests for data.
Design, develop, and maintain database tables, stored procedures, and supporting objects.
Build and support reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.
Serve as project manager on cross-department technology projects.
Design, debug, implement, and maintain solutions to improve operations for business units.
Work with cross-functional teams and leadership to define business requirements and assist in developing custom solutions to further the Association mission.
Support APCO staff requests for data imports/exports, reports, queries, analytical support, and system improvements.
Administer Association ticketing system, Jira.
Assist with Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives.
Identify root causes for technology challenges and propose and implement solutions.
Create solution documentation.
The successful candidate is:
Experienced SQL programmer
Strong knowledge of project management techniques and principles
Excellent customer service techniques
Effective communication in both verbal and written form, as well as have an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communication
Experience with Community Brand’s netFORUM is preferred (or similar AMS)
Experience writing reports (SSRS preferred)
Experienced programming with C++, html, .net desired
PMP, ITIL, BA, or Lean SixSigma Green Belt preferred
Minimum requirements include:
Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in SQL programming and designing, developing and generating reports.
Three years’ experience leading teams as a project manager and/or a business analyst
Solid understanding of the principles of database design, implementation, and business process workflow.
Effectively manage multiple priorities
Strong business and systems analysis skills, test planning and testing skills, troubleshooting skills and experience with numerous environments and architectures
Experience with requirements management, use case and modeling tools
APCO International offers a comprehensive benefit program including a 401K plan. Salary range for this position is $65,000.00 – $80,000.00 annually.
