Position: Job DeveloperReporting to: MRC/DDS Program Coordinator Contract Terms: 260 days, 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. Number of Openings: 1 full-time positionHourly Rate: $27.50/hr.; based on experience and educationValley Collaborative is a Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education approved public school entity. Valley also provides Social Security Administration (SSA), Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Massachusetts Commission for the Blind (MCB) and Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission (MRC) programs for Individuals over the age of 18 with varying disabilities. Valley provides a robust pathway for students to continue their careers beyond high school by providing high quality academic, therapeutic, and vocational services to individuals referred by both local school districts and SSA, DDS, MCB and MRC.
We provide programming so Students and Individuals with varying disabilities can reach their educational and/or occupational goals. By sharing its resources with multiple school districts and social service agencies, Valley programs are able to maintain superior quality at reasonable costs to all those it serves while meeting or exceeding state standards.Essential Functions of the Job: This role is responsible for assisting individuals; referred by The Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Department of Developmental Services, and Social Security Administration prepare to enter or reenter the workforce. Additionally, this essential team member must demonstrate a positive and caring attitude and must remain flexible and adaptable in order to meet department needs.Develop and maintain relationships with potential and current employers.Make appropriate recommendations based on assessment of Individuals employment skills, interests, and readiness.Represent Valleys vocational programming to community partners, agencies, and other interested parties.Assist in the development and maintenance of Individual Employment Plans.Develop and maintain professional relationships with vocational counselors.Keep accurate records of consumers progress for monthly reporting.Oversee in-house and off-site assessments to observe consumers job readiness skills.Write assessment, training and career planning reports.Review progress reports with counselors, consumers, families and other service organizations.Provide travel training to consumers using local public transportation systems.Transport clients to/from activities as needed. Create resumes and cover letters.Assist consumers with completing online and paper job applications.Perform mock interview scenarios with consumers to prepare for interviews.Accompany and provide supports to consumers during job interviews.Identify and facilitate natural supports unique to each individuals work environment.Provide on and off-site job coaching to consumers.Attend all required meetings and trainings.All other duties as assigned.
