NV5 has an immediate opening for a Lead Electrical Engineer Position for our St. Paul, MN location. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and interested in team building, client relations, and continuous learning while applying a broad range of electrical engineering skills. In addition, this role includes mentoring and leading project teams to ensure project schedules, budgets, and expectations are met while providing exceptional customer service and quality of deliverables to our clients.
Lead other electrical designers and engineers on major, multidiscipline projects, including resource and task management within set schedule and budget
Development of electrical scope of services, man-hour and fee budgets, design schedule, resource requirements
Assist and mentor designers and engineers
Provide quality control reviews
Develop and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external clients
BSEE or MSEE from accredited institution
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in consulting engineering with design, construction, and startup experience in some or all of the following:
- Chilled Water plants
- Heating Hot Water or Steam plants
- Electrical Power Generation plants such as -
- Diesel Engine-generators
- Combustion Turbine-Generators
- Steam Turbine-Generators
- Institutional utility distribution systems (electrical distribution) in large plant and campus settings
- Electrical distribution systems in buildings and industrial facilities
Fault and voltage maintenance analysis, including use of computer software for modeling and calculations
Arc flash calculations
Protective relaying systems design and coordination, including calculations and settings for the protection of medium voltage motors and generators, distribution feeders, transformers, and utility interconnection.
Raceway and cable systems for power distribution, control, and communications
Grounding and lightning protection systems
Lighting (indoor and outdoor)
Development of plans, procurement and construction specification
