ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER - MARINE
GENERAL FUNCTION: Performs engineering work in designing, planning and overseeing manufacture, construction and installation of electrical and/or electronic component systems. Ensures designs meet customer and regulatory standards related to electrical installations. Supervises or directs work of engineers, drafters and or designers.

Has expertise in system design and integration, for one or all of the following: Machinery Control Systems, Alarm and Monitoring Systems, Integrated Bridge, C4ISR, C2, etc.
Carries out engineering assignments associated with electrical design to ensure proposed designs meet contract requirements.
Responsible, as a team member, for schedule compliance.
Accountable for compliance with the specifications, regulatory requirements, and standard practices.
Responsible for responding to and resolving all owner comments and regulatory comments and issues.
Support ILS in development of System Technical Manuals.
Support development of system test plans including equipment FAT testing.
Responsible for obtaining and reviewing vendor information and technical data as required.
Accountable and responsible for providing engineering calculations as appropriate.
Supervises work of drafters and/or designers involved in electrical design. Checks designs for accuracy.
Provides technical assistance to production.
Maintains documentation and data related to electrical designs.
Coordinates with vendors to ensure design compatibility.
DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of electrical design associated with division products. Good knowledge of regulatory and company standards applicable to electrical installations for division products or the ability to acquire it quickly. Ability to translate technical requirements into usable engineering data. Ability to function as team leader and member; to direct the activities of others and maintain effective working relationships.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Experience in electrical engineering, shipbuilding and production processes. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities preferred.
Level A: 10 years’ plus experience
Level B: 5 – 10 years’ experience
Level C: 3 – 5 years’ experience
Level D: Less than 3 years’ experience
