POWER Engineers is currently seeking an entry level Structural Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department in our Portland office located in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of structural design for substations including permitting support, preparation of structural drawings, steel and foundation design.
Development of structural construction specifications, cost estimates, engineering proposals, and project schedules.
Understand and incorporate typical structural codes requirements.
Preparation of calculation packages to satisfy client and jurisdictional requirements.
Support of substation physical design and equipment layout.
Occasional travel will be required.
BSCE (Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering) degree from an ABET accredited university.
Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA).
Coursework includes structural analysis, concrete design, steel design, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Ability to perform calculations to size steel members and foundations.
Structural analysis design software experience.
Engineer In Training (EIT/FE) registration is preferred.
Previous engineering design or drafting work experience, especially if related to civil engineering or construction, is desirable.
