DEA’s Denver, CO office is hiring a Junior Level Civil Engineer-in-Training in our Transportation Business Unit as part of our Roads and Highways team. In this role, you will work on a variety of transportation design projects during the planning, design, and construction of streets and highways, utilities, and unique intersections and interchanges. The responsibilities will be diverse and will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Working with diverse project teams on all aspects of projects, including project set-up, data collection, data analysis, documentation, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.
Utilizing state of the art computer drafting tools such as Microstation, InRoads, and Civil 3D.
Translating mark-ups into drawings, checking and plotting drawings, correctly labeling final working drawings, calculating and updating project quantities, and updating contract drawings and specifications.
Performing design-related tasks under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer, using standard guidelines and criteria such as AASHTO and others.
Setting up and maintaining standard drawing files and adhering to company drafting standards as applicable to each project.
Obtaining work assignments of specific design elements from Project Managers with an allocated budget.
Setting up directories and working within file-sharing software such as ProjectWise.
Developing data summaries, graphics, documents and presentations.
Supporting project managers and task leads on multi-discipline projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Engineer In Training (EIT) certification
2+ years of professional engineering experience
Ability to work both in teams and independently
Transportation project experience
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation/InRoads, and/or OpenRoads
