As a Product Engineer- Distribution in R&D, you’ll develop and support hard real time embedded systems that support everyday life, from critical, life-saving operations to everyday tasks, like flipping a light switch.
As a Product Engineer - Distribution, a typical day might include the following:
Assisting customers apply protection and control products to medium voltage distribution feeders.
Defining technical requirements and specifications for new products and enhancements.
Interacting with firmware, software, and hardware development teams.
Writing and executing product and system level tests.
Creating and maintaining product datasheets, flyers, and instruction manuals.
Preparing and presenting technical product presentations.
Participating in company and industry committee meetings.
This job might be for you if you enjoy:
Analyzing power system events.
Coordinating medium voltage distribution feeders.
Integrating protection and control devices into switchgear and voltage regulation equipment.
Utilizing SEL Mirrored Bits or IEC 61850 GOOSE in FLISR schemes.
Connecting field devices to electric utility SCADA, OMS, ADMS, and associated telecommunications systems.
Applying IEEE, IEC, and UL standards to designs.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, equivalent degree, or equivalent work experience.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
Experience in Electric Utility Distribution Operations or Distribution Standards
Experience using SEL products
Experience using Matlab, Simulink, and Simscape Electrical
Experience using RTDS
