Position Status: Up to 1 year term
In your role as Inbound Transportation Coordinator at The North West Company (NWC), you will operationally support the movement of inbound shipments into the company’s supply chain, as well as provide transportation analysis to identify opportunities for improvements in the network. You will also support a number of value-added initiatives that ensure the lowest cost of goods to our customers.

Support the company’s inbound transportation movements while ensuring expected service levels are met and costs are minimized;
Administer the company’s Vendor Inbound Compliance Program and provide regular summaries of effectiveness;
Preserve relationships with inbound transportation carriers and obtain regular reporting on their performance;
Provide analytical support for various projects and initiatives;
Maintain inbound freight rates and support occasional inbound freight invoice audits;
Monitor and respond to all potential or actual disruptions in the inbound network;
Seek opportunities to optimize the supply chain through the use of technology;
Desired Skills & Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Supply Chain & Logistics in an operational and / or analytical capacity;
Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field;
Previous education or experience using transportation and financial modeling tools;
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel;
Strong demonstrated analytical and problem–solving skills;
Ability to work independently within tight timelines;
Knowledge of VBA and / or database extraction tools (Oracle SQL Developer) is considered an asset;
Ability to maintain confidential information;
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and,
Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with internal and external business partners.
