Aerospace Systems sector is seeking an Packaging Engineer (Level 2)to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.
ThePackaging Engineer (Level 2) will develop Military and commercial reusable and short life shipping and storage containers, logistics material handling, and parts protection devices for use during in process manufacturing of parts and assemblies, direct line feed applications, and the transportability of program hardware. Designs package exteriors considering such factors as product identification, sales appeal, aesthetic quality, printing and production techniques. Oversee prototype development and performance testing. Adhere new packaging solutions in regards to sustainability and or packaging and manufacturing technology. Collaborate with suppliers, operations, and production engineers in developing packaging for new products. Responsibilities may include documentation management, identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives for packaging material, labor efficiency, transportation, and storage and an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Bachelor's Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) field.
2 years of packaging and/or material handling and/or design experience.
2 years of recent drawing experience using CATIA, NX and/or Solidworks.
2 years' experience in design, mechanical engineering and/or experience with material and mechanical properties
This position requires having the ability to obtain and maintain an DoD Secret clearance.
Active DoDSecret security clearance
Strength in managing multiple projects
Proficiency in packaging or material handling design
Manufacturing or Logistics Fixture design experience is a plus
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) is a plus
