Would you like to work on a Program that contributes critical capabilities supporting our National Defense? As an Obsolescence Engineer for the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program, a successful candidate will help bring these capabilities to the warfighter by managing of the End of Sale/End of Life (EOS-EOL) program on the C2BMC Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) Task Order. The selected candidate will conduct analyses of the hardware and software baseline to track, identify, research, and recommend resolutions to obsolescence conditions. Frequent contact with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for product lifecycle information is required. The selected candidate will coordinate with cross functional product teams to develop creative and thorough solutions to mitigate or resolve complex technical issues associated with specific obsolescence conditions. Potential courses of action are presented to management, task order leadership, and the government customer for approval. The selected candidate will coordinate with impacted product teams to ensure understanding and full implementation of approved courses of action to resolve obsolescence conditions.
Knowledge of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) management and experience researching hardware and software obsolescence
Understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and sustainment concepts
Experience working in databases and other sustainment tools
Proficiency at reading and utilizing engineering drawings Previous experience supporting a government and/or DoD customer
Familiarity with the Agile framework
Excellent communication skills are a must
Thorough understanding of Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product lifecycle is desired.
Must be a self-starter with experience working with cross functional product teams supporting a geographically diverse program.
Working knowledge of lifecycle sustainment strategies and experience with project management is desired.
Prior exposure to Agile framework and various levels of the development lifecycle (Engineering, Development, Test, Installation, and Deployment) is desired.
