Research Engineer - Human Factors

About $60,000 - $85,000 a year

The candidate will help carry out and set the research agenda for automotive human factors. The ideal candidate will have experience developing complex automotive systems from a Human Centered Design perspective. This position will be focused on collaborating with a diverse team of human factors and interaction design experts as they chart the future of human-machine interaction with the mobility solutions of the 21st century.


Engage with Human-Centered Design (HCD) teams on experiences which require Human Factors research
Identify key human factors research questions/issues from these Experiences
Perform cognitive modeling, human performance studies
Establish and publish Human Factors Guidelines
Lead experimental design and statistical analysis of Customer Clinics
Execute Usability Studies and Customer Clinics
Evaluate multi-modal interaction
Study driver situation awareness & measure of perception
Interface with downstream partners to deliver meaningful human factors results
Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Science, Psychology or related field
Prior instance with experimental design and statistical analysis of Customer Clinics
1+ year of experience designing for Augmented Reality applications (coursework allowed)

1+ year of experience with modern human-computer-interaction methods including Natural Language Understanding, Intelligent User Interfaces or Digital Assistant Technologies (coursework allowed)
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Science, Psychology or related field
3+ years of experience as an automotive human factors engineer
Experience operating in a research or advanced technology setting
Excellent networking skills

Strong problem-solving skills
