Marine Engineer

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated journeyman-level Marine or Mechanical Engineer to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at the USCG HQ in Washington, D.C. The candidate will execute and manage the following technical support tasks for the National Security Cutter (NSC) Program Office:

Assist the technical lead with the management of the engineering support team.
Interface with the SFLC Engineering Services Division and the USCG Project Resident Gulf Coast on items of a technical nature.
Conduct a technical review of all internally developed technical cost estimates.
Develop technical statements of work for Obligation Execution Team packages (MIPRs, PRs, etc.).
Document design development activities for modifications to NSC systems.
Conduct studies and analyses as assigned by the technical lead for the development of internal CG-9321 TCTOs.
Track TCTO's/EC's through the change process.
Develop assigned TCTO's/EC's and push them through the change process.
Review all externally developed ECPs/ECs/TCTOs for technical sufficiency and report discrepancies to the technical lead prior to the Technical Advisory Group review.
Support the NSC CM manager in the planning and execution of the Technical Advisory Group.
Conduct ship checks as required for assigned TCTOs.

Security Clearance Requirements:
Must be able to qualify for, obtain, and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Possessing an existing, active SECRET security clearance is preferred.

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Must possess a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture from an accredited institution or university.
Must have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
Must have at least one (1) year of demonstrated experience with U.S. shipbuilding acquisitions.
Must have at least one (1) year of demonstrated experience supporting a major system acquisition program (DHS/USCG Level I, DoD ACAT I or equivalent).
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Must have familiarity with SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
Must have excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
Must demonstrate sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary, confidential, and classified information.
Must be a team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Approximately 0-10% travel anticipated.
