The People Strategy Specialist supports all facets the department’s charter to be the chief people advocate, culture guide, people developer, total compensation strategist, and compliance consultant. They will be an avid MadTree ambassador who lives the behaviors – Connect, Grow, and Give a F*ck. Additionally, the People Strategy Specialist will:

KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES IN ORDER OF PRIORITY AND PROJECTED TIME ALLOCATION:
40% - Accountable for day-to-day operations of People Strategy department to ensure activities are compliant, timely, accurate, and build towards a greater employment experience.
30% - Serves as an organizational consultative resource to help employees and managers to increase personal and professional growth and connection.
20% - Guides the organizational culture to connect MadTree to the employees and each other to create a sustainable, mutually beneficial employment relationship.
Ten percent of time is reserved for ancillary responsibilities and activities unrelated to the key performance objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, ACCOUNTABILITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll ensuring changes are documented and made, manage time-card approvals, adjust deductions, and ensure pay rate accuracy.
Serves as a resource for managers during the recruiting process including developing new job descriptions, collaborate with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings, posting positions, screening candidates, and supporting the hiring process for all staff. Supports job fairs and large hiring events.
Maintains broad knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, employment law, organizational development, employee benefits, and more.
Day-to-day management of HRIS and time keeping system including set-up of new hires, updating of employee status changes, making required changes to permissions, and training of end-users.
Responsible for managing benefits open enrollment, life events, and other benefits changes for all employees including managing data updates with broker/vendors, plus reconciliation of benefits invoices ensuring enrollments are accurate and premium adjustments are made.
Assists in development and implementation of employee policies and procedures which includes maintaining the employee handbook.
Assists in managing employee engagement data in concert with managers to identify opportunities for improvement and to amplify positive connections.
Supports People Strategy in implementing programs to help improve connection and the employee experience.
Assist in managing compensation planning and deployment.
Assist with performance review process, including management of software tools, educating managers/employees on processes, tracking progress, etc.
Assist in the overall development of all employees to improve performance by identifying training and education needs and providing necessary resources.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state agencies including EEOC and OSHA reporting. Manage COBRA, FMLA and other policies.
Facilitates new hire orientation, scheduling, and onboarding (including establishing and managing access to software systems), creating a welcoming environment that delivers a positive experience to reinforce the MadTree behaviors.
Conduct employee relations inquiries and recommendations based on findings. Also answer basic employee questions and/or facilitate the resolution of basic employee concerns.
Partner with employees and managers across the organization to coach and assist on employment related matters.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or equivalent experience required.
Payroll experience strongly preferred.
