Job Summary :
Sterilization test vessels are heavily used, and tightly controlled sterilizers intended to test and/or release biological and chemical indicators for our Device Reprocessing business. The Sterilization Vessel Engineer hired for this position will be responsible for improvements to on-site sterilizer maintenance, performance and control. This individual will use data analysis to develop predictive measures and robust control plans for vessel performance, enabling a long-term sustainable vessel platform. In addition, the engineer will define and execute robust experimentation and validation that ensure current and new vessels are compliant to current standards. Finally, an element of global support for localization efforts, factory acceptance trials, and training is anticipated.

Successful candidate should have demonstrable skills in process control, hardware testing, and validation methodology including IQ/OQ/PQ and instrument calibration methods. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with various process/industrial instruments and controls, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), temperature and pressure measurement and control, sensors, solenoid and variable control valves is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Leading efforts to improve vessel uptime and reduced variability.
Supporting division efforts to characterize and standardize test vessel performance parameters for process/product understanding.
Ensuring compliance to regulations and standards.
Developing, validating, and integrating tools for data collection and analysis.
Supporting new installs (FAT\IQ\OQ\PQ).
Recommending facility improvements impacting vessel utilization and performance.
Maintaining robust documentation for calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Engaging across sites to ensure practice and procedure alignment.
Providing support to maintenance and QC lab to improve performance, calibration, validation.
Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum of two (2) years combined manufacturing, quality and/or laboratory function experience within a private, public, government, or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
Mechanical aptitude with hardware or electro-mechanical systems experience
Experience in creating and executing validation protocols for process or test equipment
Experience with statistical methods and use of statistical software such as Minitab®
Experience working in a Medical Device regulated manufacturing environment
