GCI's Network Statistical Data Analyst will provide analysis and reporting based on the company's Wireless Networks statistical data. Identify trends and anomalies in statistical data to assist Technicians and Engineers in detecting network trends and/or performance issues to avoid disruptions that could impact Customers. Provide and present in detail report findings to all levels of stakeholders throughout the company.
The primary function of this position is to provide Tier II technical support for incident resolution related to wireless telecommunication technologies, including GCI's growing 5G network. Incidents range from total outages to chronic intermittent issues causing reduction of service. As part of Tier II team, ongoing skill development is required to help achieve best MTTR (Mean time to repair) and assist in network optimization. This position will reside and report to Technical Assistance Center (TAC).
Essential Duties of the Network Statistical Data Analyst:
Statistical Data Analytics
Collect, aggregate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to drive insights into network performance.
Provide quantitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights and trends.
Coordinate with Technicians and Engineers to help identify network operational performance issues and meet SLAs, by tracking and analyzing key operational performance metrics and goals via management dashboards , scorecards , analytics, and alerting.
Design, develop, maintain, and distribute regularly recurring management reports that track network performance, and statistical trends:
Gather and utilize end user reporting requirements to generate design proposals.
Partner with IT and Business Line counterparts to establish any data feeds that are necessary to produce reports.
Develop and administer Access databases and Excel spreadsheets that are necessary to produce requested reports.
Post-process data from Network Statistics tools (Ericsson ENIQ, NetScout, Truecall, nBA, OSS, & Optima) to produce reports.
Deliver and present reports and dashboards to internal/external customers and leadership
Develop report prototypes and various visualization solutions
Track and store reports, dashboards, and metrics following established guidelines
Support data analysis, data warehouses, repositories and reporting environments
Audit existing reports to determine if they still meet GCI Wireless requirements and/or if they can be automated for quicker publication
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
MS Excel: Utilization of functions and features such as VLOOKUP, conditional sums and Pivot Tables. Experience with VBA (Visual Basic for Apps.) and establishing links to other data sources is strongly preferred.
MS Access: Demonstrate a solid understanding of tables and queries at a minimum. Experience with forms, macros and linking to outside data sources is desired.
Experience with real-time analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau.
Ability to query databases and perform statistical analysis.
Understanding of telecommunication network infrastructure
Basic Understanding of ITIL (desired)

Communicates complex findings and ideas in plain language. Excellent ability to present reports, describe where the data comes from and identify important indicators and recommendations.
People skills: Demonstrated ability to work well with others under stressful, time restricted conditions, displaying patience and tolerance and promoting teamwork. Build and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, peers and vendors. Ability to work with diverse individuals from multiple professional disciplines in support of a common goal.
Three years' experience in data analysis and reporting required; to include experience in any of the below listed fields:
Real-time analytics and visualization tools
Data collected from Telecommunications network or IT monitoring business intelligence tools
SQL programming and business intelligence platforms and tools
Large database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in IT Systems, Statistics, Engineering, or closely related field required. Or, in addition to minimum experience required; a combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis.
Physical Requirements: Office and Field Position: Ability to perform sedentary work, sometime over long periods of time in any given workday. Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color. Ability to lift and carry up to (25) lbs.
Working Conditions: Most activities conducted indoors under pleasant climatic conditions. Work can be intense and stressful due to time/resource limitations when scheduling multiple tasks with inflexible deadlines.
