Learning Specialist Overview:
Communications & Learning Solutions is looking for an experienced instructional designer and content developer to join our Content Development team. In this role, you will be using your strong communication skills in collaboration with subject matter experts to create engaging digital learning experiences. In addition, your expertise will help us drive further innovation and continuous improvement to the learning experiences and information we use to support our TELUS team.
Content creation is the backbone for a strong learning and development experience for our frontline team members across BC and Alberta. As a content designer and developer, you will create engaging and impactful content that drives behavioral change and skill adoption in the field to help us reach our organization's strategic goals.
This position reports to the Manager, Development and is accountable for the creation of learning content to support technical training for Technicians. You will:
Build important reference material and interactive eLearning courses in collaboration with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and your peers on the team
Complete important content updates as we shift our content into a self-serve digital format
Create engaging labs and activities for digital and experiential learning courses
Share ideas & collaborate with your peers to drive meaningful innovation into our digital learning products

Qualifications
What YOU Bring:
A Bachelor’s Degree or higher – preferably in Education or a related degree
2-4 years of experience as a learning professional with expertise in
Instructional design
Adult learning principles and techniques
Collaborating with subject matter experts
G Suite applications
Articulate Storyline 360
Xyleme LCMS authoring (considered an asset)
Graphic design (considered an asset)
Video development (considered an asset)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Writing skills for technical and non-technical audiences
A strong understanding of digital, virtual and experiential learning best practices
Demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects from start to finish
Strong time management & priority management
The ability to influence people that you have little or no authority over
A real desire to put the customer first
A natural curiosity demonstrated by being a lifelong learner
A habit of looking for new ways to do things
