Develop and maintain good supplier relations and act as a supplier liaison for all activities.
Schedule and carry out proactive supplier visits for existing and potential suppliers.
Support supplier-related issues and initiatives at all Pridgeon & Clay locations including Mexico, Hungary, and the United States. Travel to plants as necessary.
Ensure that suppliers understand and meet program timing.
With the supplier, proactively develop and implement robust error-proofing methods to ensure 100% product conformance.
Conduct and support supplier validation runs, run-at-rate activities, and error-proofing solutions.
Actively participate in supplier selection process with the Purchasing group.
Disposition all supplier PPAP submissions in a timely manner.
Participate in lean initiatives, including 6 Sigma, CIA’s, 5S, standardized work, and lubricant reduction. Suggest, document, and implement ideas to increase personal or plant efficiency.
Monitor supplier IATF and/or ISO certificate expiration dates. Request updated certificates as necessary and update tracking system.
Solid understanding of GD&T.
Interface with Launch team and/or customers regarding PSOs as related to suppliers or supplier issues.
Interface with Launch team and/or customers regarding supplier PPAP requirements and submissions.
With input from the Launch Quality Engineer, approve supplier gage designs ensuring they meet dimensional and process/product repeatability requirements.
Track supplier PPAP performance.
Ensure all supplier quality issues are documented with action plans / corrective actions prior to customer PPAP; and resolved all issues prior to product launch.
Lead the evolution and implementation of the Supplier Portal. Create and/or update supplier information in the Supplier Portal as needed. Train suppliers in the use of the Portal.
Utilizing the Supplier Concern Database, initiate timely 8D’s to suppliers with review and follow up to verify corrective actions are effective.
Identify and lead continuous improvement efforts and document cost avoidances and reductions related to savings related to suppliers.
Approve inspection criteria and assist Receiving Quality Technician with the initial creation and periodic review of Incoming Inspection Guidelines for all purchased components and outside processes.
Collect, analyze, and report data on supplier quality and delivery performance on a monthly basis using the Supplier Scorecards in the Supplier Portal.
Update supplier purchase orders in QAD with current drawing revision levels.
Review and disposition all supplier-related non-conforming material in a timely manner. Work with the purchasing group to ensure proper and timely return of product and issuance of debits.
Lead a weekly 8D / Corrective Action / Open Supplier Issues review meeting with Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality personnel.
Create and maintain project schedules, and proactively and consistently execute assignments and tasks to ensure successful completion
Present monthly key supplier quality metrics and action plans to management team.
Execute job duties of a Supplier Quality Engineer for all customers assigned by the Director of Purchasing.

Qualified candidates will possess the following Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (or a related field), or 10 years of experience in an engineering role
Experience with automotive supplier Development
Ability to establish and maintain good supplier relations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Exposure to the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process and associated quality documents
Experience with blue print reading, datum schemes, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and Design of Experiment (DOE)
Strong computer proficiency (including Windows, Outlook, Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and willingness to work a flexible schedule
An excellent work record, including attendance
Outstanding candidates will possess the following Desired Requirements:
Previous experience in the quality environment of a stamping supplier
Experience problem-solving using 8D and 5 Why methods
Experience with lean manufacturing including 5S, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement Activities, and standardized work
