Husky is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer for its Heavy Oil and Oil Sands Production Services Department in Lloydminster.
As part of a multi-discipline engineering team, the Mechanical Engineer supports the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of existing heavy oil and SAGD facilities. The Mechanical Engineer works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams within the Business Unit.
Specific responsibilities will include :
Providing mechanical engineering support for modifications to existing facilities, including detailed design, authentication of engineering documents, and field verification.
Collaborating with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure designs are safe, reliable, and fit for purpose.
Ensuring the use of government regulations, industry codes and Husky specifications during the design and review of engineering packages.
Participating in process hazard analysis (What If, HAZOP, LOPA).
Contributing to engineering quality and compliance with Husky’s Professional Practice Management Plan.
Advocating and supporting Husky’s Management of Change process.
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline, combined with mechanical engineering experience).
Registration as a Professional Engineer with APEGA and APEGS (or eligibility for registration).
Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience, including pressure equipment design.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the petroleum or chemical industry, preferably in Oil and Gas operations.
Familiarity with heavy oil and gas production, SAGD, and related process equipment.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-discipline team.
Experience working with industry codes and standards, such as:
ASME B31.3, B31.1, and Section VIII
Experience in piping stress analysis would be an asset.
Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and experience driving on winter gravel roads.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A Driver’s abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the Pre-employment Screening for the final candidate.
