The Bureau of Information and Telecommunications has a full-time permanent position in the State of South Dakota for a Software Engineer with an emphasis in SoftwareAG webMethods development and administration. information systems, computer science, or equivalent work experience;
experience in Agile/Scrum Methodology;
experience on SoftwareAG webMethods product components: Integration Server, Designer, MWS, Trading Networks, Adapters, Terracotta;
knowledge on various protocols like SFTP, SMTP, HTTP/s, FTPs, and File Polling;
experience in SOAP, REST, JSON web services;
experience in software development life cycle (SDLC) implementations;
demonstrated experience executing the SDLC against large systems implementations;
experience with solution development and application architecture with JEE(J2EE) or .Net;
experience performing conceptual and technical designs, including the use of object-oriented analysis and design techniques;
leadership and project management are beneficial;
experience in Microsoft products (MS Visual Studio, Visio, .NET Framework, SQL, Power BI, Project).
The candidate's responsibility will be to work as part of a team and with state agencies to provide webMethods solutions to meet state agency needs and administer the webMethods infrastructure.
upgrading Enterprise Application Interface (EAI) hardware and software to the newest versions, patches, and hotfixes;
creating project plans for upgrades, coordinating and communicating with vendors, all BIT Divisions, and state agency staff directly affected by upgrades;
drive decisions through consensus and influence change;
design pragmatic solutions to complex business problems;
enterprise architecture alignment;
maintain an understanding of the state-wide business strategies, enhancing service quality and reducing cost;
accountable for having EAI software available for Application Development;
accountable for having a good-standing relationship with internal clients (state agencies), external clients (trading partners), software vendors, and third-party vendors;
support, monitor, and administer the EAI infrastructure and the applications that run on the infrastructure;
provide technical expertise to agency EAI applications developers that are integrated across multiple agencies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
SoftwareAG webMethods administration and development;
Web Methods Tools and Languages: Integration Server, UM, MWS, Optimize, Insight, Wm Deployer, Java Services;
security concepts such as (authentication, authorization, encryption methods, digital signatures, etc.);
principles, theories, and concepts of computer science;
business process analysis;
application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and experience performing functional requirements definition;
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC);
Team Foundation Server (TFS) and/or Azure DevOps for ALM.
