Who we’re looking for
XMOS has ambitious plans for its next generation of ICs and is looking for energetic and versatile software engineers to join the growing team. Working in a start-up environment, you will participate in and influence all aspects of software development, with opportunities to work on a range of platforms, from embedded devices to host processors.
We are looking for a junior embedded software engineer to join the team in our Hampton, NH office. You could work on a wide variety of tasks across our entire product stack. Qualified candidates should hold a BS in Computer Science, Math or a related Engineering discipline and have several of the skills listed below.
- Python programming knowledge;
- C/C++ programming experience;
- A mindset for hardware and software testing;
- Experience with FreeRTOS or other real-time operating systems;
- An understanding of Continuous Build and Integration systems.
You are not expected to have significant work experience, and we specifically encourage graduates to apply. We expect you to be bright, keen to learn, and have demonstrable experience developing software, for example, as part of a university degree.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work on the XMOS software development kit and application reference designs
- Design, implementation, and testing of embedded software
- Automated test implementation
- Collaboration with engineers from a range of disciplines to deliver complete, production ready software.
