The purpose of this job is to test condensing and sealed units for Nidec GA customers,
align with the company' s strategy and provide reliable test data by using local and
international standards and methods. The Test Engineer works together with the
application engineering group providing results developed internally using analytical
skills and specialized software.
1 - Assure laboratory testing equipment is suitable by performing maintenance and
2 - Use analytical skills, tools and resources to interpret data, and conduct additional
studies or develop new testing systems as required.
3 - Maintain knowledge of all necessary application standards that must be used to test
Nidec customers' systems and apply them into lab routine;
4 - Plan and execute advanced application tests on different systems then propose the
correct method, instrumentation needs and analytical reports as required.
5 - Propose product improvements, align with application engineers, and contribute to
6 - Coordinate and apply technical benchmarking with different application testing sites
into Nidec' s group.
7 - Propose improvements regarding lab productivity, processes, test quality and
internal customers satisfaction.
8 - Support internal customers, perform baseline tests, validation tests and conclusions,
focusing on system optimization for energy consumption improvement, cost reduction,
and/or customer needs.
2 to 3 years of experience in refrigeration required.
1 to 2 years of Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Engineering Technology required.
Advanced analytical skills.
Comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
Operating skills in soldering and brazing.
Data acquisition with LabView or similar software a plus.
Must be a self-starter and comfortable in working with a team or independently.
Excellent communication skills.
Show sense of urgency and focus on responding to customers.
Intermediate MS Excel skills.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Engineering
Technology) or equivalent work experience.
Profficiency in English;
Spanish is a plus.
