Purpose of Job
Provides clerical and administrative functions in support of the Director of Human Resources, the Recruiter and the overall operations of the H.R. department. Performs various duties required to maintain employee benefit & compensation programs. Responsible for all processes required for new employee documentation for personnel file.
Job Requirements
Education
High School Diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D) required.
Associates degree preferred.

License/Certifications

Experience
One to two years’ experience in human resources or clerical role that included managing confidential information.

Skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills necessary to provide service excellence through verbal and written communication.
Skills and knowledge in order to prepare reports, perform calculations, keep records, and deal effectively with people.
Ability to utilize a variety of computer applications.
Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills.
Knowledge of office procedures and principles of record keeping.
Knowledge of office procedures particular to Human Resources.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to prioritize and organize work.
Physical Requirements
Physical
Standing or sitting in the same location; may require to stoop, climb or lift light material (<10 lbs.) or equipment. Examples: programmers, receptionists, medical technologists, dishwashers and security guards.

Environmental
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Examples: executive, management and secretarial positions.

Hazards
OSHA Category 3: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials and Category 1 tasks are not a condition of employment.
Essential Job Functions
Essential Functions I

Support the overall customer service role of Human Resources. Welcome guests into Human Resources who present either by phone or in person, identify their needs by answering questions and needs in a timely manner. Additionally checks out available equipment.
Assists recruiter by scheduling interviews, routing applications, and letting leaders know when their candidates have arrived for scheduled interviews.
Assists recruiter, supervisor or HR staff in the onboarding process for pre-hires to include creating personnel files, providing follow up on documentation and being a resource to newly hired staff.
Assists with orientation to organization by providing tours following specified route and initial computer training per orientation guidelines. Creates badges for new hires and replacement badges as requested, using the methodology provided by the system.
Oversees HR document management and resources such as filing employee records, auditing personnel files, and utilizing the HRIS to verify employment.
Assists with the coordination of employee recognition events, activities, programs as requested, i.e. retirement events, Service Recognition, employee activities throughout the year.
Coordinates schedules for organization’s conference rooms and bulletin boards.
Supports the publication of HR policies and procedures as requested.
Maintains student processing and organization to include interns, preceptorships, validating contracts, coordinating high school to work programs, and student clinical rotations as requested.
Works within the LMS to support education for the organization, validating completion or running reports as requested.

Essential Functions II

Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.

Other duties as assigned.
