Job Summary:
The Pipeline Draftsman will support the pipeline and terminal construction and operations by creating and maintaining drawings as well as providing guidance and review on third party engineering and survey.

The position organizes and provides modifications of detailed, technical, scale drawings of single units or parts for construction, modifications, replacements and repairs of stations, terminals, tank farms and pipelines using computer aided design and drafting (CADD) methods and modifications of existing drawings. The Pipeline Draftsman is also responsible for ensuring the incorporation of project closeout material and construction data into Operational GIS pipeline databases and CAD drawings. This position will also be responsible for implementing and administering the document control processes and standards while maintaining accuracy, quality and integrity. The position will maintain and manage all required capital project drawings. Ensure documents and records are properly tracked, managed, stored and maintained.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Organize, consolidate and maintain master drawings and survey records for pipelines and terminals.
Create drawings to support engineering, operations and development activities. Prepare detailed, technical, scale drawings for projects based on engineering specifications, blueprints, sketches, photos, videos and other available input, including oral explanation, using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) methods. 3D modeling proficiency is required.
Provide drawings, as needed, to engineers, project managers, field personnel, and other departments within the company as necessary and appropriate.
Closely coordinates work with engineers and project managers through oral and written communications, especially phone and email.
Support and document changes to master drawings from maintenance and construction activities.
Provide guidance and review to outside engineering and survey firms on company requirements for drawing and survey deliverables. Quality control drawings and survey deliverables.
Maintain drawing and survey guidelines.
Maintain and distribute approved materials/equipment lists. Responsibility for periodic updates and documentation of updates.
Other duties as may be assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good organizational, analytical, and computer skills
This position may require occasional travel
Self-motivated and willing to learn new and changing technologies
Ability to manipulate computer and other drafting equipment and tools to produce drawings
Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
High School Diploma
2 year technical degree in computer aided design and drafting applications (CADD) or equivalent work experience
AutoCAD and/or CADWorx experience
7 or more years relevant work experience using CADD applications in relevant industry
1 or more year as a lead designer preferred
Knowledge of or experience working on petroleum or liquid products pipeline or petroleum related facilities helpful
Sound knowledge of record management and process
