The opportunity:
You will work with an elite team of developers to build scalable systems and troubleshoot using various tools. Operation Core team is responsible for the internal tool for controlling the state of the entire SkipTheDishes (and partners) Food Delivery Network. Thousands of Agents use this tool 24/7.
The role requires a well-rounded and upbeat person who can hit the ground running and build collaborative relationships to support the dynamic environment we operate in where speed to market and reliability are critical components of success.
What’s On Your Plate:
Help the team to improve test processes and automation in an agile environment.
Coach and mentor the team for best test practices.
Become a trusted authority in your team for QA and Automation matters, with a strong evidence-based case for why a release is ready to ship.
Engineer solid, reliable automated tests that are considered as reliable as production code.
Ensure that the team has the right level of test coverage for the product, functional and non-functional tests.
Configure CI to provide the maximum team benefit, balancing coverage and confidence at each stage.
Do PR reviews for your team.
Enthuse and advocate quality practises across teams
Recipe for Success:
We’d like to hear from you if you are confident testing in a collaborative, agile environment. We expect you to be comfortable working with software engineers, configuring environments, looking in databases, automating tests and building frameworks.
Skills:
Test automation (any platform, any language – Java, C#, JavaScript, Python… it’s all good)
Exploratory testing
Challenging scope requirements
Configuring Continuous Integration environments and supporting Continuous Deployments
Comfortable with Git, Github, GitLab or similar source control solutions
Performance profiling and tuning
Proven experience identifying and developing quality within Engineering and Product teams.
Experience:
Writing Automated Tests using tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress.io or Appium.io.
Continuous Integration / Deployment.
Common test automation design patterns.
REST Web Services and HTTP.
Test-Driven and Behaviour-Driven Deployment practices and tools/frameworks.
Proven experience creating and/or developing testing frameworks that ensure and enhance quality within a CD environment.
Optional toppings:
Experience with Java 8+ would be a plus.
Experience with tools like SonarQube, Artillery, Pact, and Postman would be useful.
Experience with a Test Management suite (like Zephyr Scale or TM4J) would be useful.
Exposure to Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc) .
Experience with message queues and event-driven services (eg, RabbitMQ, Amazon SNS/SQS) also a plus..
