JOB DUTIES: Application Engineer with Dana Automotive Systems Group, LLC in Maumee, OH will be responsible for application engineering of Dana Hybrid and Electric drive axle systems and technologies for OE customer passenger and light truck/SUV platforms. Establish vehicle system level requirements and define design inputs for sub level components and related systems. Develop product design proposals to meet customer specifications and test requirements. Lead all product development and validation activities including: DFMEA, design reviews, drawing and model creation (CAD), finite element analysis (FEA), prototype builds, DV/PV testing, NVH verification, design for manufacturing, and key supplier development. Develop and maintain prototype and test validation plans to meet key customer program timing. Support Advanced Program Quality Planning (APQP) activities. Ensure design reviews are completed as planned in order to support a gated program management process. Provide technical support to customers during all phases of vehicle development including: pre-sourcing, vehicle validation, product validation, vehicle start of production (SOP), and post-SOP. Interact with and communicate all engineering and development issues as needed to Dana internal functions, including Program Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, Engineering Support Groups and Engineering Management. Prepare and conduct technical presentations (Customer and Dana internal). Prepare and present test reports confirming requirements have been met. Prepare and present damage analysis and other various engineering analysis to demonstrate the integrity of product prior to test. Analyze warranty data and develop effective counter measures.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or related technical field, and at least 2 years of experience in the job offered or at least 2 years of experience in axle and/or automotive powertrain engineering. Stated experience must also include experience in each of the following: hybrid/electric powertrain systems; using CAE tools, including FEA; APQP activities; and leading DVP&R and DFMEA activities.
