Engineering for Services Engineer - Naval

As an Engineering for Services (Efs) Engineer for Rolls-Royce, you’ll provide in-service product engineering support to internal and external customers on U.S. naval marine propulsion, marine gas turbine and associated GT packages, and equipment handling products. You’ll work closely with other engineers, the Integrated Program Team (IPT) leads and Engineering Leadership to provide technical solutions during all product lifecycle phases, from early pre-contract concept development, through design maturation and production and into service to achieve an optimum combination of availability, reliability, maintainability and life-cycle affordability.

Key Accountabilities

Supporting equipment health monitoring (EHM) of products and maintain lifecycle engineering data
Providing shipboard and shipyard technical support and advanced problem solving to Field Service Representatives
Providing engineering technical support to customer inquiries, including occasional off-hour support
Supporting development of product documentation, including Technical and Service Bulletins
Supporting development of repair procedures and support tooling; customer contract deliverables; and safety processes, including identification of potential issues and in-service technical issues
Reviewing service reports to identify possible safety issues or non-conformities, ensure technical accuracy, and follow up on reported recommendations
Willing to work occasionally in a factory, shipyard or shipboard environment
Travelling domestically and internationally on a scheduled and unscheduled basis, sometimes on short notice up to 25% of the time

Basic:
An Associates degree in Engineering with 8+ years of experience in engineering OR;
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 4+ years of experience in engineering OR;
A Master’s degree in Engineering with 2+ years of experience in engineering OR;
A JD/PhD with 0+ years of experience in engineering OR;
In lieu of degree 12+ years of experience in engineering
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred:
Familiarity with US Naval vessels and associated propulsion and equipment handling machinery
Experience in the marine industry covering technical support, technical documentation, problem-solving, and Naval standards and Mil-Specifications
Experience in troubleshooting procedures, FMEA and root cause analysis
