Supports computer needs at assigned locations, provides leadership, training, and support to administrators, teachers, and teaching assistants, perform basic hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and assists with appropriate network management and troubleshooting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintains network servers, PCs, tablets, Chromebook, software, and hardware at assigned sites.
Provides training and support to administrators, building instructional staff in the integration of technology to support administrative and instruction needs.
Participates in the installation and maintenance of computer and printing software and hardware.
Provides technical support in the implementation and maintenance of one-to-one initiatives.
Participates in up-grade setup, configure, install, and troubleshoot administrative and instructional computers and software.
Provides district-wide technology training for end-users as required or assigned.
Performs related work as required or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good knowledge of industry-standard network protocols, data communicates facilities, systems, interfaces, and federal, state, and local laws, codes, and systems, interfaces.
Good knowledge of the theory and practice of the microcomputer functional applications computer network engineering.
Some knowledge of principles and practices of engineering design as related to Greensville County Public Schools WAN and LAN systems.
Ability to plan and carry out assigned activities.
Ability to explain I.T. operations and plans to school officials, administrators, and teachers, and support personnel.
Ability to communicate clearly, orally, and in writing.
Ability to train personnel in information technologies.
Education, Training, and Experience Requirement:
Considerable course-work in computer information systems, computer science or related technical field, and some responsible computer technology, functional applications support related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above-noted knowledge, skill, and ability.
Microsoft Certified Professional (preferred)

Some assignments are subject to deadlines and require tailoring and delivering programs to meet the needs of many divergent groups.
Performance will be evaluated by the Network Engineer in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on the evaluation of classified personnel.
