Oversight, implementation, and adherence to MPC Material and Corrosion standard practices.
Support new projects as it pertains to material selection and corrosion mitigation. This can include drawing, weld procedure, and manufacturing reviews.
Review inspection reports and provide root cause analysis principles for bad actors identifying corrosion and damage mechanisms.
Facilitate Integrity Operating Window (IOW) and Corrosion Control Document (CCD) reviews.
Manage and maintain IOW/CCDs.
Collaborate with MPC Technical Service, Inspection and/or Operations to mitigate potential damage to equipment and enhance life cycle reliability
Support and facilitate Risk Based Inspection (RBI) reviews and maintain records as necessary.
identify corrosion and damage mechanisms, and recommend the best course of action to resolve, mitigate, and improve the integrity of MPC assets
Participate in or facilitate MOCs, Tier 1 audits, PHAs, and Unit Health checks.
Propose value added projects through material selection and conduct focused reliability improvement programs that increase reliability and/or decrease operating or lost opportunity costs.
Participate in industry meetings and conferences, ie. NACE, ASME, API.
Participate in MPC advisory group meetings networking with MPC technologists and peers.
Manage and maintain corrosion mitigation and monitoring programs ie. Permasense data, TAN inhibitor, water wash uptime, IOW compliance.
Engage in review, revision, and development of Maintenance and Inspection procedures as well as MPC specifications
Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned or required by the reliability supervisor.
Bachelor Degree in Metallurgical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Material Science & Engineering/Corrosion Engineering or related engineering field.
Minimum 3 Years (5 preferred) of metallurgical, refinery corrosion, or related experience in refinery or petrochemical setting.
